About me
I am privileged to live in this beautiful valley. My husband and I raised our 4 children here. Our roots run deep in this valley. We've lived here for 37 years on land that has been in the Shaw name for over a century. In the time we've lived here we have seen our valley grow to where it seems only available to those with wealth who can afford the inflated housing prices. My children have been priced out of the valley. I am a retired school counselor. I feel that the skills I learned as an educator, like listening and collaboration, will serve me well as a city council member. I will be someone you can depend on. Some of my concerns for the valley are Inflated housing prices that make it hard for our children to come back to the valley, keeping the rural charm of our valley and growth that doesn't align with the Ogden Valley general plan. I hope you will trust me with your vote.

I wanted to take a moment to thank those of you in district 1 who voted for me in the primary. Your confidence in me is appreciated. My mission is to keep this valley the beautiful gem that it is. We have beautiful mountain vistas, open fields, abundant wildlife, clean air, dark skies, just to name a few. Those of you who voted for me voted to protect those things. That is what I will work hard to do.
We need to be responsible and careful with how we grow. I'm not naïve enough to think that our valley can remain as it is, but I also know that we can manage our growth and preserve the rural charm of our valley. Stay with me, join me, and let's do this together. Let me be the choice for your voice!
The work of standing up a city
Working together now for the good of the community
We are at a historic point in our community. Our newly incorporated Ogden Valley will need everyone’s support to make our community great. Congratulations to the candidates who have moved on through the primary. Our intent is to work collaboratively to get our city ready to go by the time January comes. We have a few months to do that and lots of work to do. Thank you to the transition teams who have worked tirelessly in setting the groundwork for us.
This is an exciting time for all of us and that is why the candidates are committed to making our transition as smooth as possible by working together now. We have a strong pool of knowledge and a strong desire to make this the best transition ever. We will be ready to stand up our city come January.
We are now having weekly Monday night meetings to catch us up on what the transition teams have worked on. We have divided the work between us. I am now part of the Finance and Admin team and the Planning and Land Use team. Each of these teams also meet weekly. We are following through with the action items each of the transition teams left us. In spite of the steep learning curve, I'm excited to be able dive in and "get 'er done!"
